easter prep

isa and i had a fun little egg dying project this morning. we have two egg hunts to go to this weekend and the egg prep was a good activity to keep isa engaged. when both isa and sylvi are home for the morning, it's really hard for sylvi to get a good nap in. with so much going on around here, and isa literally trying to keep sylvi's eyes open (literally people. she does not want her sister to sleep), it takes alot of effort to keep isa content and sylvi relaxed. a balancing act, no doubt. so this morning we dyed eggs while sylvi napped.

on a side note-- after i explained the concept of hiding and hunting eggs to her, isa ran into the kitchen and pointed to the eggs (in the pot) and said, "Look mama! I already found 'em. They're in the kitchen!" apparently she's one step ahead of this whole game?

grand teton visitor's center

another very nice pit stop on the way to jackson is the new Grand Teton National Park Visitor's Center. it just opened this year and we were eager to check it out. living so close to incredibly beautiful places has definite perks-- and that includes really beautiful places to go pee too! ha! not your typical rest stop, that place! we were really pleased with the new center and enjoyed looking around. as you can see from the pictures it's a gorgeous building, with really nice educational features, and the view is incredible as well. phil had fun playing with the camera too, trying to get some nice siloheutte pictures of the three of us-- well done daddy. i love the two posted here.

old mcdonald's farm

ok, so it wasn't exactly old mcdonald's farm... but close! we stopped at a friend's farm on the way to jackson saturday, as you can see from the photos. this farm belongs to one of phil's clients. he's done alot of work with them over the years and always wanted to take isa along to show her the animals (and solar panels and wind turbines too!). since their place is on the way, we thought it would make a great pit stop. isa had a blast feeding the chickens, petting the sheep and horses, and snacking on celery and cherry tomatoes in the greenhouse! we're not sure if isa had a favorite animal (Ramos the llama? Charlie the goat? the horses?) but she thoroughly enjoyed all of them and sang 'old mcdonald' for a while to prove it. many thanks to the Appels for letting us stop by for a visit!

flashback, and then some.

isa at five months. look at that chub!

sylvi at four months, having a little sit down with her animals. all business.

we'll be on blog break for the next few days, as we are going to jackson for the weekend! while life around here is still pretty busy, a few days in the 'big city' will do us some good. rest assured, we will come back with lots of good photos too. isa will be hitting the slopes for the first time on sunday, so i am sure there were be a few hundred photos taken there! not to mention the awesome jackson pool, the grand tetons visitors center, and a little side trip to a friend's farm along the way. lots of good stuff planned! see you on monday!
