the stats...
Isa had her 6 month checkup this morning and according to the charts, she just keeps growing! she now weighs 14lb 11oz and is just under 25 inches long. So that puts her in the 25th percentile for weight and the 10th percentile for height. She's one short little baby (gosh, wonder where that comes from!) Unfortunately this visit included a shot too, which was not much fun for either of us. But she managed just fine and was smiling by the time we got to the car. Way to go Isa!

SIX Months!
Happy Half Birthday Isabel! Woohoo! We’ve made it to the six month mark intact… a bit tired, but smiling! To mark the occasion, we all went out for a nice dinner and Isa got her first taste of cold water. Brrrr. She liked it. But she actually enjoying sucking on the rim of the glass even more. Six months from now it'll be time for cake!
Lander life...
Here in Lander nordic skiing is big, I mean really big. It's like football in the South. But rather than a bunch of hefty guys in shoulder pads, it's a bunch of skinny guys (and girls!) in tights, and on skis. The state high school championships were hosted outside of Lander this year so we dug our Lander Valley High school pride out of the closet and went up to cheer them on! It was an absolutely beautiful day and we all enjoyed the blue skies and great scenery.
As you can see from the photo, Isa was a little less enthusiastic about the event itself but was still content to hang out in the backpack. We included this picture of mom and babe because many of you might be wondering, "Is the mommy ever in the photos? Does she really exist?" Well, here is proof of the mommy, this time on the other side of the lens. Go team!

Adventures in feeding...
We've entered the realm of solid food and lemme tell you, it's a whole new ballgame! And alot of fun. Isa started off this new adventure with some bananas... yum. They got mixed reviews at first but eventually she was reaching for the spoon between bites. Next up was sweet potatoes. Just as with the bananas, she wasn't so sure about these either. But by the third bite it was love and she had smeared them all over her face. Up next... carrots!
So, it's been five months...
So, it’s been five months for me in this big world! I don’t really know what that means, but my parents seem to think it’s a big deal and so we are having a fun five-month-birthday kind of celebration. Well how are you celebrating, you might be thinking to yourselves? Well, we are going to bed early! That’s how! Looking back, it’s been a big month for me… I had an epic family adventure over the Holidays, including visiting, airplanes, and even a trip to the emergency room! I got over my fear of bathtime and realized that cups are fun. I learned to roll from my back to my tummy. I can now squeal so loud it makes the cat leave the room. I can sit up for a second or two before starting to tip over… wheeeee! I can grab both my feet and make changing my diaper much more difficult!
So here’s to me, on my fifth month birthday!
peace out,

A Winter Hike!
This is our first hike in the woods in the backpack carrier. We went up to the falls of the Popo Agie River, which are all frozen this time of year. We walked in the snow, nursed on the trail, and even had a little nap. Isa stayed warm and snuggly bundled up on mommy's and daddy's backs. She likes her new ride!
Like a weed...
Yup, she’s growing fast folks. We thought we would do a little photo progression so everyone can oooh and ahhh on how much she's grown!
A Revolution in Bathtime...
Who would've thought that little plastic cups could make such a difference for a bathtime baby? Well, folks, let me tell you... these little pieces of colorful, stackable, goodness have become a favorite around here. Isa used to loathe her baths. It was a total see-how-fast-we-can-wash-her sprint to get the job done. But now, thanks to our darling little cups we actually have fun, all three of us! She can pick them up, thrash 'em around, accidently dump water on herself, and most importantly she can chew on them. We are so excited, we thought we would share! See for yourself...
