a little isa update...

so it's been a while since we posted about what isa is up to. back in the day (like six months ago) we were pretty on the ball with reporting the developments of the day, showing off new skills, etc. and while the developments haven't slowed down, the reporting has. so, what's isa up to these days? alot.

first of all, she is quite the coordinated little booger. she walks really well and never ceases to amaze us with her good balance. of course there are still those toddler spills, busted lips, bumped noggings, and what not. but for the most part, she is a pretty motor-drive little girl.

she has a shoe fetish, already. and an obsession with bags. we hope those pass, being that our lifestyle could not keep up with such expensive habits. she is very particular about what shoes she wants to wear and if you forget to put them on she will go and pick them out and bring them back to you. and don't even think about putting on a different pair... bad move. chaos ensues. the girl has her tastes apparently.

she still isn't much of a talker, though she does surprise us with new words every now and then. like dada, mama, dog, go, duck, bubba, ball. she rarely says them more than once or twice though so you'd better be listening. she has become quite the signer. anyone who has been around her for very long can atest to that-- especially the sign for "food". she does it pretty much all day long and she really means it. among her other favorite signs lately are tired, goodnight, more, drink/milk, baby, and a few others that pop up here and there.

speaking of asking for food-- this child can eat! all day long! it seems, luckily, that she got her daddy's metabolism. she would eat all day long if there was food in front of her. and if there isn't it, then she keeps asking for it! but all that walking just burns the calories away. the little busy body is pretty darn skinny, with the exception of her cheeks of course. she still weighs about 18lbs and is about 28 inches tall.

phew. so how's that for an update?

the sickies

well, i suppose we can't be so surprised. after all of the traveling on airplanes, changing of climates, and general toddler life. but we are sick. blah. regardless of the sneezing and snotting, miss baby is in a pretty good mood. sleeping? that's not going so well, but atleast she's not a whining mess right? right. the mommy on the other hand, would rather curl up in bed with hot chocolate and a heating pad, rather than go about daily life. sigh. no such luck.

oooh, lookie here!

mountain aven baby was very pleased to be included in the ever popular (and oh so fabulous) blog Scribbit. some of you may have noticed Scribbit down on the old bloglist to the left. being that it's from Alaska, it holds a special place in our blogger hearts!

so, we were quite flattered to be invited to participate in a giveaway! the new little camper design seemed quite fitting for giving away on an Alaska blog. so go check it out and don't forget to enter :-)

fun with groceries...

this is why we like to take the daddy to the store with us. because he and miss baby can play while the mommy shops in peace. otherwise i spend a hurried few minutes trying to get groceries while isa tries to dismantle the lower shelves. ahhhh.

happy (early) halloween!

happy early halloween from the deep south. where fleece duck costumes can only be endured for a short, short photoshoot. and yes, we know it's early, but we needed to do a little halloweening before we headed home tomorrow :-)

guess who had another photo shoot with kristy this morning? that'd be miss baby and her friend avery. there were some new items in the shop that needed profession photo lovin' so kristy worked her magic! and it is seriously magic... the lady has unbelievable photo skills. to say that the mommy is eagerly awaiting the results would be quite the understatement. but stay tuned and you might get a sneak peak tomorrow. can you stand it? really? i can't.

petit picasso

look who likes to make her mark. she's so excited she can hardly stand it.

we're back!

and i don't think we took a single picture. yeah. sorry. but it was the busiest of busy weekend so that's our excuse. oh, and it was c-co-col-cold, so we were too busy keeping warm. the wedding was absolutely gorgeous and we loved every minute of the socializing, and eating and eating and eating. ohhhh, the food.

isa was a complete ham, as always. seriously, this child has NO fear of crowds and noise and general revelry. she just takes it all in, dances around, smiles at everyone and goes about her toddler business. good times, good times.

park play

the park is just about the perfect place to be these days. the crowds of summer are gone (or back in school), the weather is cool, and the babies are all over the place. anyone who has ever been to this park knows how great it is. and isa and willow are taking full advantage of it! isa's newest gig is going down the baby slide on her own, with someone at the bottom to catch of course. although if you do it once, you'd better be ready to do it about fifteen more times. yes, that lesson has been learned! the girl likes the slide. on another note, don't they girls look like old ladies chatting at the lunch counter in the last pic? priceless.
