rainy wyoming?

that's pretty much an oximoron. or atleast we thought. it has rained almost daily here for weeks! luckily we missed most of it while we were away (our knee high grass was evidence though) but are now getting our fair share. wyoming has gotten more rain/snow this spring than it has in over a decade. and while we desperately need it, don't get me wrong, we're also ready for some sun and warmth too! so, that's my excuse for the lack of fun spring pictures since coming home. we just keep getting rained out. poor isa must think i am lying to her-- every day before her nap i say, "and when you get up, we'll go the park with your friend charlotte!" and every afternoon the clouds roll in, the thunder claps, and we stay put. time to think of more indoor activities i suppose.

but it does make for good snuggling weather, and that's always nice. especially these days when i would rather lay on the couch than do much else anyway. speaking of which, the ole shop re-opening has been postponed for a while longer. *gasp* until the singapore order gets finished/managed/tossed in the river, there is just not enough time and energy to keep up with retail orders. BUT as soon as this biggie is done, i am happy to announce that there will be NO wholesale orders for a long, long time.

and the video...

tool time

yesterday's aforementioned trip to Home Depot was for two new ceiling fans. one will replace the ugly brass one in the living room, the other will be for our bedroom so that the pregnant one does not roast in bed all summer!

anytime the tools come out here at home, isa is thrilled! she loves helping daddy with anything and everything, especially if tools are involved. and while she does have her own set, they are not nearly as fun as the real thing. today she was the official commentator as well, randomly shouting, "tools! helpin! oh boy!" and other exclamations. of course she clammed up as soon as the video started, stay tuned for that!

home sweet home

well, we finally made it back to the cowboy state. after a long two days of travel, full of weather delays and crazy turbulance, morning sickness, been-traveling-too-long-sickness, etc. we were very relieved to make it to our friend alex's house in denver last night, with a nice meal waiting for us and a soft bed for miss isa. today we made it back home and even managed to do a Home Depot run in the process (more on that later). the goose was a trooper, and while the flight to denver was not her most well-behaved, she made up for it on the long drive today. phil and i both remarked that this was the first "vacation" since isa was born that actually felt like a vacation! imagine that. so as hard as it was to leave, we are still glad to be home.

and here we are. we're relieved to find everything in ship shape around the house-- though we have alot of yard work to do now, as it rained a ton while we were gone! on a less happy note though, we were really sad to hear that our beloved neighbor pet O-dog died while we were away. we knew he was sick but had been relieved to see him doing much better when we left. but he took a turn for the worse and his owners decided to put him down. we are all sad to see him go. "O-dog" was isa's first word and the first thing she looked for every morning out the window. rest in peace buddy.

pool time

isa and emmie have also thoroughly enjoyed playing with each other in the swimming pool. being that isa is not a fan of the south georgia heat, swimming is a good way to be outside without getting too hot (atleast for a while). they've even showed each other a few tricks... isa taught emmie how to stick her face in the water and blow bubbles and emmie taught her how to use a chair in the pool! as long as isa doesn't hog the chair, that is!

cousins!

isa and her cousin emmie (17 months) have had a grand time with each other since getting to Georgia. isa wasn't up for playing during the first few days, as she recovered from her stomach bug, but once she was back to normal the fun began! there have been many a wagon ride around the neighborhood this week.

ocean adventures...

as mentioned previously, isa loved the ocean! and being that the gulf is generally really calm, it was perfect for a little goose. she really enjoyed going out and jumping the waves, whether in someone's arms or in a float. and since the water was nice and clear, we got to see alot of cool sea creatures... a pod of dolphins, several schools or sting rays, and a four foot sand shark! isa didn't really get that excitement, but we thought it was cool!

and then it worked!

more long awaited beach photos. this is the closest miss isa will come to a bikini-- for a long time atleast! most of these pictures were taken on the first day there, so isa did alot of looking around in amazement. she just couldn't get her little head around a "pool" that big! she loved the ocean though and once she got her feet wet, the rest was history.

beach baby

balcony fun

well, after alot of trying, these are the only two photos we have managed to upload from the camera and then on to the blog. sigh. atleast they are cute (if a little dark). isa spent alot of time playing on the balcony after being on the beach. being that it's twelve floors up, the scenery is fantastic and isa enjoyed seeing everything with a bird's eye view! hopefully more pictures to come, if we can get the gods of digital to give us a break!

flashback... uhm, saturday?

well, we missed the weekly installment because we're not at home with access to all of our photos. but the daddy did have a few on the ole laptop, so we're making it flashback saturday. and being that we spent the day on the beach, the snow pictures seemed amusing! that look on isa's face says, "why do we live in such a cold place again?"

speaking of the beach-- it's been fabulous! though the mommy got more sun today than she should have (shame on her) so it's probably a good thing that we're headed to Georgia tomorrow. with aloe. isa has thoroughly enjoyed herself and had a blast in the ocean this morning. she was seemingly fighting off a virus earlier in the week (high fever and high fussing), and while the last two nights have been rather long, she does seem to be on the mend. or atleast we hope!

we made it. finally.

you'd think we were traveling from antarctica or something. atleast that's what it felt like! but we made it to the beach and we are very glad to be here! even after all of the travel, isa went for a little sunset adventure tonight. and she LOVED it. she was totally mesmerized by the water and waves and sand and sea shells. she even got her feet wet in the ocean and giggled while doing it (and while also keeping a death grip on mommy's fingers!). she was really amazed by it all and loved it from the first second. something tells me we'll have to drag her off the beach (and out of the pool) in the coming days! pictures to come, assuming we remembered the camera cord.

little mama...

the mommy treated herself to a new sling and it came in the mail today! so of course we had to try it on around the house this afternoon. it is so comfortable too! but eventually isa wanted to get down and do her thing-- by which i mean, she wanted to get down and wear the sling herself. granted, it's pretty big for a little goose and her sockmonkey but it sure is cute! i think someone will be getting a (smaller) sling of her own very soon!

who's counting?

i am. counting down til vacation time. less than twenty four hours now.

of course we're supposed to get 2-3 inches of snow tonight. of course. so let's hope the roads to denver are good and we get there without any interstate closures. sigh.

bring on the beach. bring it on.

flashback friday!

happy friday folks. it's certainly a TGIF kind of day here! today's installment goes way back... to day six! This picture was taken about ten minutes after the Goose came home from the hospital. I just recently came across that little sleeper in a box of Isa's clothes... it's hard to imagine how small she was to have fit in it (with the sleeves turned back!)... it looked so *tiny* in the box. Awwww.

the home stretch...

not much time to blog this week. we're trying to keep up the momentum for the next six days... and then... it's vacation time baby! the goose has no idea the fun that those weeks will entail... oceans, pools, grandparents and all the spoiling that goes with them...

good thing i closed the shop on the first. it will be all we can do to get everything done by next tuesday! must.keep.truckin...

May Day!

our friend dannine, who is also one of the new seamstress extraordinaires, had a May Day party this morning! complete with food, kids, and even a May Pole. as you can imagine, it was fun for all... especially the weather part! After days of snow, the sun finally came out and warmed us all up! Now if it will just stay this way.

flashback friday!

what did you think i forgot? here are isa and daddy last summer-- the goose was 9 months old. it's not nearly so green in the mountains right now... it's been snowing for the last two days. so the sunny, green picture seemed like a hopeful touch today! come on spring!
