so what's new?

the ole blog has been a picturama lately, i know. but there is just so little time for writing it seems. but alot of you are probably wondering what's new? well, alot. isa says and does new things daily. the latest achievement is being able to use the sign for "help" appropriately. that was a seemingly hard concept to get across but she picked it up quicker than we did. i had been wondering for weeks what this new sign was she was doing (she has a slightly different version than the official sign) and then finally i got it! she's clearly one step ahead already. what else? she was patient enough to let me put two pigtails in her hair this morning, though of course you can't see it in the picture! she has also become quite the social butterfly as well. as many of you know, she goes to a sitter two mornings a week (for two hours) so the mommy can get some work done, and there she gets to hang out with some of her buddies. mrs peggy raves about isa, and how sweet and well behaved she is. mrs peggy says she is cooperative and gentle and a very good natured playmate. aren't we proud? yes we are.

speaking of work, there are some exciting developments on the Mountain Aven Baby front. i was approached recently by a rep agency that was establishing itself as a supplier for retailers. this is the latest move in the retail work actually... reps provide a comprehensive site where retailers can go to order various products for their stores. it's a brilliant concept really. this company in particular has been very successful in the upscale pet market (think britney spears and designer dogs) and is now branching out into the upscale baby market (think tom, katie, suri). so i was pleased to be asked to be a part of the launch! the kicker is that it will likely mean alot of growth in a short amount of time. as it stands now, there are more wholesale orders than can be delivered on time. so the growth plan is in the works and there is a high (necessary!) likelihood that another employee will be hired for more than part time work in the near future. otherwise we just can't keep up. we'll see how it all pans out but having little invested means there is little to lose and that's a bonus. now on to the specifics... anybody got a US factory up and running that they'd like to share? ;-)

  6. After seeing your work, Blair, I'm not at all surprised you're at this point. I think you have an incredibly unique and engaging sense of design for baby clothes...and could be hugely popular.

Let's talk about this off-comment-line. I have a bunch of ideas popping out of my head but don't want to prattle on and bore everyone.
