new addition!

we came back from the little vacation with a large piece of antique furniture! pretty amazing isn't it? we have been needing more storage for a while now, but it's hard to find something unique and nice and affordable around here. so we did some looking in jackson and to our surprise found this incredible cabinet/amoir/dresser in our price range. what a score! it wasn't exactly cheap, but being that it was in our price range meant that it wasn't too pricey either.

as you can probably tell, it's pretty old and has lots of character, which is what we were going for. it is from china and though we don't know much about the history of it, we are told that it was most likely used for food storage. there are two large shelves in the top part, three small drawers in the middle, with two more slotted shelves in the bottom. the top doors swing open and the bottom square panels slide. eventually it will go on the opposite wall (not pictured) where the long, low dresser is now. but we are repainting an older dresser now that will go in this newly occupied space. yeah, yeah, that's alot of dressers being described for a small room but it will all work out in the end!

and in case you were wondering... no! i would not normally put a photo of our unmade bed on the blog. but daddy and isa had just finished wrestling on the (fully made) bed as i was snapping shots. that's my excuse and i'm sticking to it.
