Hurricane Isa

A category five. The path of destruction widens as she picks up steam across the living room.

Food for thought...

The Mommy came upon this image and decided it would be good food for thought. No, it is not Isa. This image is from the New York Times, as part of a slideshow on the recent G8 Summit protests in Germany. Hopefully there are no copywrite infringements in posting this photo, if so the Mommy claims total ignorance in her defense ;-) To cover her behind, she will add a link to the image instead...

Those diaper pictures...

Miss Baby and her Fuzzi Bunz (ooh la la, the bug print). I know it's been a few days since I promised to post these but hey, better late than never.

Little Swimmer...

The first ever Miss Baby swim lesson went off without a hitch! What can I say, the girl likes the pool! Though the Mommy must admit, it was a little hectic... picture this: a bazillion kids splashing and kicking and diving and laughing and crying, all in a huge space that echos like a rock and roll concert hall. Whoo. The groups were seperated into different sections of the pool so it was quite manageable, but definately loud and crazy.

But enough with those other kids, how did Miss Baby do? Great! It took her a minute or so to get used to the c..c..co...co....cold water (which for the record was really stinking cold) but then she was splashing around with the best of them. There were only four kiddos in her class (from 9 months to 2.5 years) so there was lots of time with the teacher. We floated, we splashed, we kicked. We decided, however, to save the underwater thrills for tomorrow, just in case all the other newness was a little much for one day. After the session in the big pool, we headed over to the wading pool where Isa could sit and play, and where the water was much warmer. After that, it was off to the hot pool (think bathwater hot) for a final warm up.

It was a definate success overall and the Daddy even got to swim with us (take that you silly one parent rule!). Can't wait to go back tomorrow. The Mommy got the video loaded but something went awry and it's really pixalated... don't know why exactly. Shrug.

Libros favoritos...

Isa has taken an interest in books, particularly ones in Spanish. Not surprisingly, the Mommy is quite pleased with this development. So on this sleepy Sunday morning Isa and the Daddy sat down to do a little reading. After a session with the Velveteen Rabbit, they moved on to Oso Pardo, Oso Pardo (Brown Bear, Brown Bear) where Isa proceeded to give kisses to the animals on each page. The Daddy seemed a little confused as to why she kept wanting to put the book up to her mouth, until he noticed that with each new page Miss Baby was actually finding the animal's face, leaning over and giving them a smacker!

simple pleasures

Isa's New Ride...

Woooooohooooooo. Guess who's got a new set of wheels? That's right, Miss Baby got a bike trailer! The Mommy and Daddy had been looking around for a while and just as they were starting to get discouraged... wham! Someone posted this fab-u-lous Yakima Tot Rod on the local email listserve. It came from a local family who treated it very well and passed it on for a very nice price. It's built to hold up to 2 kiddos at a time, though one Miss Baby fits just perfectly. Doesn't she look so tiny in there though? These pictures were taken while we were trying it out in the backyard. She was actually surrounded by soft blankets and fun toys for the inaugural ride. And speaking of the ride... she loved it! Once she was all comfy and settled, Isa kicked back and enjoyed herself. There was even the occasional "AaaAaaaAhhhh!" Guess that means she likes it!
