after reading a friends blogs (waves to michelle) i was inspired to do a little post about bathtime around here. it's really amusing for all of us and an important part of isa's day. and so, quite blog worthy.
for starters, isa LOVES her bath. really. as soon as she is done eating each night and she signs all done (or we ask her and she nods), she signs bath. doesn't matter if it's 6pm or 8pm... the girl wants her bath as soon as she's done. so off we go. half the fun is actually getting to the bathroom. we sheds her clothes as fast as possible, swings her arms back and forth (freedom!), shivers and makes the "ccooooold" face, and then runs around stomping and prancing for a few minutes. we call these the prebath jitters and man are they cute. then we hit the tub (or shower, which is more common actually). she has started to high step her way into the tub... i mean literally hiking her tiny, short leg up and over the side (we are talking above her head). once she's there, she has several stacking cups waiting, along with some washclothes and a rubber duckie. she has a grand time rearranging and stacking and splashing until the water gets cold. we tell her it's time to go night night and it's time to go. so we watch the water go down the drain, she sticks her hand down there a few times and we're outta there.
her hext favorite part involves combing her hair. or something like that. to avoid the dreadlocks in the back of her head, we are pretty consistant with combing her hair after a bath. and being that she likes to do everything herself... she grabs the comb and goes to town. while it doesnt often help, it sure is cute.
by the time we get to the bedroom and half dressed for bed, she is already yawning. success. and very sweet in the process.
Ah bathtime. :)
